About the Artist

I am Alina Tacmelova — a conceptual artist, documentary filmmaker, and psychologist.

My artistic practice exists at the intersection of art, psychology, and documentary storytelling.

Through installations, sculptures, and films, I explore the unconscious, identity, and memory, creating projects that make the invisible visible and invite audiences to see themselves — and the world — from a new perspective.

Selected Projects:

  • “Family Album” — an immersive installation exploring generational memory and the collective unconscious, where delicate papier-mâché petals hold photographs, fragments of objects, and forgotten stories passed down through generations.
  • “Production of Identity” — a conceptual project investigating how society, culture, and collective narratives shape our sense of self, blurring the boundaries between personal identity and imposed roles.
  • “Smile — You’re on Camera” — a mixed-media installation examining surveillance, power, and truth in a world where cameras are transforming from tools of control into witnesses and protectors.
  • “Pearls of Memory” — an upcoming documentary art film based on extensive research into memory, identity, and transformation, inspired by the works of Chris Marker, Marina Abramović, and Michel Foucault.

These projects share one goal: to create spaces where viewers can slow down, feel, and confront what is usually left unspoken.

I work with the invisible layers of human experience — inherited traumas, untold stories, and emotional landscapes hidden beneath the surface — and give them form through immersive, multidisciplinary narratives.
