The Matrix of the Unconscious

Family Album

This project explores the unseen imprints we inherit from our ancestors — emotional patterns, unresolved traumas, and psychological frameworks passed down through generations. Each “petal” symbolizes a fragment of the unconscious, shaped by the inherited constraints and expectations carried from grandparents, great-grandparents, and other relatives in the family line.

Embedded within the petals are collaged photographs of ancestors – visual reminders that unhealed pain can echo through time, subtly influencing our present lives.

Rooted in real-life therapeutic cases from psychologist and artist Alina Tacmelova, the work also draws on the research of Mark Wolynn, author of “It Didn’t Start with You,” underscoring the powerful connection between generational wounds and individual experience.
